I began painting in earnest in 2010. Although abstract art seems to dominate the art world, I am drawn to  the realism in the work of the old masters. I am intrigued by the use of light and shadow to create focus and mystery in paintings. For that reason, I think you see a lot of those elements in my paintings.

My paintings are predominately still life and (for the most part) are on linen canvas, which I hand stretch. Although I am self taught, I have benefited greatly from being able to view other artist's work at the click of a button.
